Author Johannes Eva (viola)I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.

Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.

Overview

The Teclast T70 Pro is a 14-inch Android 16 tablet with 4G for videos, reading and light office work with an optional keyboard. Teclast launched it in July 2026, next to an updated T70 with the same screen, chip and battery; the Pro adds a keyboard case and a PC mode. There is no independent review yet (October 2026): the facts below come from Teclast and a launch article by androidpctv.

The screen is about 9 % larger than the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro. Its 16:10 format is a wide format made for videos. The fully laminated IPS panel has 2240 × 1400 pixels (189 ppi), sharper than the 1920 × 1200 of the first T70, and runs at 60 Hz. Teclast gives neither the brightness nor an anti-glare finish.

The MediaTek Helio G100 is an entry-level chip, about as fast as the Helio G99 of many budget tablets. There are 8 GB of RAM (Teclast’s “48 GB” includes 40 GB of virtual RAM taken from the storage), 128 GB of storage and a microSD slot for up to 1 TB. Android 16 has a “PC mode” with apps in windows. Widevine L1 allows HD on Netflix and Prime Video. Teclast’s page does not mention Google Play, and Teclast publishes no update policy.

A magnetic keyboard case with a multi-finger touchpad is sold separately; Teclast mentions no pen. The 10,000 mAh battery charges at 18 W; Teclast gives no runtime. At 800 g and 7.8 mm, the T70 Pro is lighter than the updated T70 (875 g) and the first T70 (960 g). Four speakers, a headphone jack, one USB-C port, two SIM slots for 4G, GPS, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 with LDAC complete the equipment.

Teclast publishes no list price. It sells the T70 Pro in China on Tmall, JD and Pinduoduo and elsewhere through online marketplaces (Teclast, Teclast China).

Performance

Teclast T70 Pro: Performance

The Teclast T70 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 processor, released in 2024 and built on a 6 nm process. It is an entry-level chip: fine for videos, web browsing, reading and taking notes, but apps open slowly and games have to run at low settings. The same chip is used in the Doogee Tab E3 Max and the Doogee Tab E3 Pro / U13. Compared with other large tablets:

  • The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 9 times faster.
  • The Unisoc T7300 in the Alldocube iPlay 70 Max Pro is about 30 % faster.
  • The Teclast T70 Pro is about 20 % faster than the Acer Iconia A16 and its Allwinner A733.
