I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.
Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.
Overview
The Meswao B1 (MES-B1) is the cheapest model in Meswao’s range of large Android tablets, below the 14-inch B2 and the 15.6-inch B3. Meswao presents it for reading, study and everyday use: it suits browsing, video calls and watching shows at home rather than demanding apps. The details below come from Meswao’s own product page, not from independent measurements.
The 14.1-inch IPS screen uses the 16:9 format, a wide format made for videos. Its area is about 5 % larger than the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro, but it is wider and less tall. With 1920 × 1080 pixels (156 ppi), it is not very sharp at this size. Meswao gives 350 nits and 80 % sRGB: enough indoors, too dim for bright daylight. No anti-glare treatment and no refresh rate are listed.
Inside is an entry-level MediaTek chip from 2020 (MT6769, the Helio G80/G85 family) with 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and a microSD slot. It is enough for the web, video and reading, but slow with heavy apps and 3D games. The B1 runs Android 13; Meswao does not mention Google Play or Widevine L1 (HD on Netflix and Prime Video) for this model and publishes no update policy.
Meswao sells an optional foldable Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad (€59), but no pen for this model. The 10,000 mAh battery charges at only 15 W (about 4 hours to full); Meswao claims up to 10.5 hours of video. At 1,020 g, the B1 is heavy for a 14-inch tablet. It has four speakers, one USB-C port, no headphone jack (a USB-C adapter is in the box) and Wi-Fi 5 only (no SIM slot is listed).
The B1 costs €189 on meswao.com (October 2026) and $199 according to Meswao’s blog (September 2026), with shipping from the US and Germany and a one-year warranty. The 14-inch B2, with the same chip, costs only €10 more and supports an active pen.
Pros
- Very low price for a 14-inch screen (€189)
- Large 16:9 screen, about 5 % larger than the 13-inch iPad Pro’s
- Optional keyboard with touchpad (€59)
- microSD slot
- Four speakers
Cons
- Old Android 13, no update policy
- Slow entry-level chip from 2020
- Low sharpness for 14 inches (156 ppi)
- Dim screen (350 nits claimed)
- Heavy (1,020 g)
- Slow 15 W charging (about 4 h)
Performance

The Meswao B1 (MES-B1) is powered by the relatively old MediaTek MT6769 (Helio G85 class) processor, released in 2020 and built on a 12 nm process. It is an entry-level chip: fine for videos, web browsing, reading and taking notes, but apps open slowly and games have to run at low settings. The same chip is used in the Meswao MES-B2. Compared with other large tablets:
- The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 11 times faster.
- The MediaTek Helio G100 in the Doogee Tab E3 Max is about 20 % faster.
Brightness

The screen of the Meswao B1 (MES-B1) reaches 350 nits according to Meswao, which is enough indoors, but not for outdoor use in the summer (600 nits is the minimum).
Size compared with the iPad Pro and a sheet of paper
- Meswao B1 (MES-B1)
12.3 × 6.9 in - iPad Pro 13″
10.4 × 7.8 in - Letter sheet
11.0 × 8.5 in
