Author Johannes Eva (viola)I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.

Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.

Overview

The Teclast ArtPad is a 13.2-inch Android tablet that Teclast announced in August 2026 for students and hobby artists, with pen support and Teclast’s ArtOS software; it is larger than the 12.7-inch ArtPad Pro of 2025. No independent review has been published yet (October 2026), so the details below come from Teclast’s product page and the launch news of androidpctv and SmartZone, without any measurements.

The IPS screen has 2240 × 1600 pixels (209 ppi), runs at up to 120 Hz and is fully laminated. Its 7:5 format is taller than the usual 16:10 and better for documents and sheet music, and its area is about 2 % larger than the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro. Teclast gives no brightness figure and lists no matte coating, so the screen is probably glossy; SmartZone warns that it may be dim, like the ArtPad Pro’s.

Inside is the Unisoc T7300, an entry-level chip for browsing, video and notes rather than demanding games. The tablet has 8 GB of RAM (Teclast’s “up to 48 GB” includes virtual memory), 128 GB of storage and a microSD slot (up to 1 TB) shared with the second SIM. It runs Android 16 with Widevine L1 for HD streaming on Netflix and Prime Video; Teclast’s page does not mention Google Play and gives no update policy.

The T-Pen2 (4,096 pressure levels) is sold separately. Teclast shows no keyboard, but SmartZone mentions an optional Bluetooth one. The 10,000 mAh battery charges at only 18 W, and Teclast gives no runtime. The tablet weighs 728 g and is 7.5 mm thin. It has two speakers, one USB-C port, a headphone jack (according to androidpctv and SmartZone), 4G LTE with two SIM slots, GPS, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The price and the release date are not known yet (October 2026). According to androidpctv, it will be sold on Amazon and AliExpress; SmartZone estimates about €165, less than the ArtPad Pro.

Performance

Teclast ArtPad: Performance

The Teclast ArtPad is powered by the Unisoc T7300 processor, released in 2025 and built on a 6 nm process. It is fine for streaming, web browsing, documents and casual games, but it is not made for demanding games, video editing or heavy multitasking. The same chip is used in the Alldocube iPlay 70 Max Pro and the Doogee Tab G6 Max. Compared with other large tablets:

  • The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 7 times faster.
  • The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 in the Boox Note Max is about 20 % faster.
  • The Teclast ArtPad is about 20 % faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
