Overview
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14 was Xiaomi’s first 14-inch tablet, launched in China in August 2023 and replaced by the Pad 7 Ultra in 2025. Notebookcheck rated it 89% and called it a Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra alternative for half the price; Svět Androida gave it 90%. The Chinese sites ITHome and MyDrivers praised its screen, its sound and its laptop-like windows for multitasking.
The screen has about 9% more area than that of the 13-inch iPad Pro. Its 16:10 format is a wide format made for videos. The glossy LCD has 2880 × 1800 pixels (242 ppi), 120 Hz and accurate colors. Notebookcheck measured 630 nits, a little short in direct sunlight, and a weak contrast of 768:1.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (2022) is still fast and barely slows down under long loads. There are 8 to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 1 TB of storage, without a microSD slot. Xiaomi’s Chinese software offers only Chinese and English; Google Play is not preinstalled but can be added. Updates brought HyperOS (Android 15, according to Wikipedia), but there is no update policy. Notebookcheck reports Widevine L1 (needed for HD on Netflix and Prime Video).
The Focus Pen (¥499) and a keyboard (¥799) with backlit keys and a glass touchpad are sold separately. Notebookcheck measured about 15 hours of Wi-Fi browsing; the 67 W charger refills the 10,000 mAh battery in 58 to 80 minutes. The aluminum body is 6.53 mm thin, but the tablet is big and, at 750 g, tiring to hold in the hands (ifanr, MyDrivers). All reviews praise the eight speakers. The USB-C 3.2 port can drive a monitor; there is no headphone jack, GPS or cellular version.
Launch prices in China ranged from ¥3,799 (8/256 GB) to ¥4,799 (16 GB / 1 TB). Elsewhere, only import shops sold it (about €650 in 2023), without an official warranty.

Performance

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14 is powered by the relatively old Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, released in 2022 and built on a 4 nm process. It is a mid-range chip, fast enough for multitasking, drawing apps and most games; only the most demanding games and video editing will push it to its limits. Compared with other large tablets:
- The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 3 times faster.
- The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is about 80 % faster.
- The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14 is about 2.5 times faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
Brightness

The screen of the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14 reaches 630 nits measured by Notebookcheck, which is bright: enough for bright rooms and for outdoor use in the shade, even in the summer.
