I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.
Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.
Overview
The Chuwi Hi10 Max is a low-cost 13-inch Windows 11 Pro tablet with a 3:2 screen. The main version, launched in May 2026, uses an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U processor (Chuwi); the cheaper Intel N100 (2024) and N150 (2025) versions have the same screen size and resolution. Independent reviews so far cover only the N100 version: Notebookcheck rated it 79% and, like TechRadar, praised the price but found the battery life short. No review of the Core Ultra 5 version was found (October 2026).
The 12.96-inch screen has about the same diagonal as the 13-inch iPad Pro. Its 3:2 format is taller than the usual 16:10 widescreen, which suits documents and sheet music. With 2880 × 1920 pixels (267 ppi) it is sharp. Chuwi rates the Core Ultra 5 version at 300 nits, but Notebookcheck measured 413 nits on the N100 version, without PWM flicker. The glossy glass reflects a lot outdoors (Notebookcheck, Parkablogs).
The Core Ultra 5 is a 12-core laptop chip, much faster than the N100, which reviewers found fine only for office work and browsing. It comes with 12 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro; Chuwi says Office is pre-installed.
On the N100 version, reviewers criticized the lag of the HiPen H7 stylus (Parkablogs, Smartzone), the thin, hollow speakers and the stand: there is no built-in kickstand, only a magnetic back cover, and with keyboard and cover the tablet weighed 1,375 g (Notebookcheck). Smartzone measured 5 hours 14 minutes in the PCMark office battery test; the Core Ultra 5 version has a similar 37 Wh battery and a 65 W USB-C charger. Ports are generous: two USB-C 3.2 with charging and video output, USB-A, micro HDMI and a headphone jack.
On store.chuwi.com the Core Ultra 5 version cost $599 (keyboard $30 extra) and the N150 version $431, but both were sold out in October 2026.
Pros
- Sharp 3:2 screen (2880 × 1920, 267 ppi)
- Bright, flicker-free panel (413 nits measured on the N100 version)
- Many ports: 2 × USB-C with video out, USB-A, micro HDMI
- Core Ultra 5 version much faster than the N100 and N150
- Low price ($599 for the Core Ultra 5, $431 for the N150)
Cons
- Short battery life (5 h 14 min measured on the N100 version)
- Thin, hollow speakers
- Stand is a separate magnetic back cover on the N100 version (1,375 g with keyboard)
- Laggy HiPen H7 stylus
- Very reflective glossy screen
- Keyboard and pen cost extra
Performance

The Chuwi Hi10 Max is powered by the relatively old Intel Core Ultra 5 125U processor, released in 2023 and built on a 7 nm process. It is a fast chip: demanding games, large drawings and video editing run smoothly. Compared with other large tablets:
- The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 70 % faster.
- The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is about 10 % faster.
- The Chuwi Hi10 Max is about 4.5 times faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
Brightness

The screen of the Chuwi Hi10 Max reaches 300 nits according to Chuwi, which is dim: fine in a dark or dim room, but hard to read near a window and outdoors. Notebookcheck measured 413 nits.
Size compared with the iPad Pro and a sheet of paper
