I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.
Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.
Overview
The Doogee U14 is a 14-inch Android tablet for videos, video calls and office work at home. Doogee began selling it on its website in September 2026. There is no independent review with measurements yet: the German site smartzone only presented it and found it too expensive for its performance, interesting only below €300.
The screen is about 9 % larger than the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro. Its 16:10 format is a wide format made for videos. The IPS panel has 2240 × 1400 pixels (189 ppi), more than the 1920 × 1200 of many budget 14-inch tablets, and runs at 90 Hz. Doogee gives neither the brightness nor an anti-glare finish.
The Rockchip RK3576S is an entry-level chip mostly used in embedded devices. According to smartzone, it is slower than the MediaTek Helio G99 of many €200 tablets. The U14 has 8 GB of RAM (the extra “48 GB” in Doogee’s ads is virtual RAM taken from the storage), 256 GB of storage and a microSD slot. It runs Android 16 with Google services, and Widevine L1 allows HD on Netflix and Prime Video. Doogee publishes no update policy.
There is no keyboard cover: a bundle adds a separate Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad, a mouse, a stylus and a leather cover. The 14,000 mAh battery charges at 33 W; Doogee gives no runtime. The metal body weighs 858 g and is 8.5 mm thin. Six speakers, a headphone jack, one USB-C port, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 complete the equipment; there is no 4G.
Doogee sells the U14 worldwide from its own shop for $369 (regular price $429) with a free mouse, or $419 with the accessory bundle (Doogee).
