Overview
The 2023 Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a 13.4-inch Windows 11 gaming tablet with a detachable keyboard and kickstand. It combines an Intel Core i9-13900H with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060, RTX 4050 or RTX 2050 graphics card (Asus). Notebookcheck rated it 89 %: it plays current games in Full HD and is quieter than typical gaming laptops. PCWorld calls it far from the best tablet but unique for its power; Pokde (8.2/10) sees a niche product.
The screen has about the same area as the 13-inch iPad Pro, but in 16:10, a wide format made for videos and games. It is sharp (2560 × 1600, 225 ppi) and smooth (165 Hz). Notebookcheck measured 537 nits, 97 % DCI-P3 and no PWM flicker; the minimum of 27 nits is bright in a dark room. Despite the anti-glare coating, Notebookcheck and Unbox found reflections a problem in direct light.
Notebookcheck found it only slightly slower than gaming laptops with the same chips. The 16 GB of RAM is soldered; the SSD (512 GB or 1 TB) can be replaced. Reviewers like the included keyboard (1.7 mm travel, touchpad), though PCWorld notes some flex. A pen is optional.
The 56 Wh battery is the main weakness: PCWorld measured about 6.5 hours of 4K video, Unbox 5 to 6 hours of office work. The tablet weighs 1.18 kg, 1.55 kg with the keyboard (Notebookcheck), and charges over USB-C (130 W). The two speakers are mediocre (PCWorld, Pokde). Thunderbolt 4, a second USB-C, USB-A, microSD, a headphone jack and Asus’s XG Mobile port for external graphics are too few for a gaming PC, say three reviews.
At review time it cost €2,400 in Germany (April 2023) and $1,879 in the US (November 2023) with the RTX 4060. A limited ACRNM edition had an RTX 4070 and 32 GB. The AMD-based ROG Flow Z13 (2025) replaced it; the 2023 model is now mostly sold as remaining stock or used.
