Author Johannes Eva (viola)I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.

Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.

Overview

The Doogee Tab G6 Max is a low-cost 13.4-inch Android tablet for video, web and schoolwork, launched in November 2025 on Doogee’s store and Amazon, and also sold by Otto in Germany since September 2026. There is no independent review with measurements yet: the articles found are launch news, spec sheets and promotional texts, so this summary relies on the official specifications.

The IPS screen has about the same area as the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro, but in 16:10, a wide format made for videos. With 1920 × 1200 pixels it reaches only about 169 ppi, so text looks less sharp than on most tablets. Doogee gives no brightness figure. Its international pages list a 120 Hz screen and a Unisoc T7300 chip, but its German page names the older Unisoc T7280, and Android Headlines, smartzone and GSMArena give 90 Hz, so check the listing before buying.

Either chip is entry-level: enough for streaming, browsing and office apps, not for demanding games. The tablet has 6 GB of RAM (Doogee’s “36 GB” adds virtual memory taken from storage), 256 GB of storage and a microSD slot shared with the second SIM. It runs Android 16 with Google services, but Doogee has no update policy. 4G LTE is built in, and smartzone reports Widevine L1 for HD streaming.

The VIP Edition adds a Bluetooth keyboard, a mouse, a stylus and a cover. The 11,000 mAh battery charges slowly at 18 W, and there are only two speakers. At 745 g and 7.75 mm, the tablet is light and thin for its size.

Price: $229 for the Basic Edition on doogee.com (October 2026). In Germany, Doogee lists the bundle with accessories at €299.99, and Otto sold the tablet alone for about €190 in September 2026 (Doogee, Doogee Germany, smartzone).

Pros

  • Large 13.4-inch 16:10 screen for about $229
  • Light and thin for its size (745 g, 7.75 mm)
  • 4G LTE with dual SIM
  • 256 GB of storage plus microSD
  • Optional bundle with keyboard, mouse, stylus and case

Cons

  • Entry-level processor, only 6 GB of RAM
  • Low sharpness for the size (about 169 ppi)
  • Slow 18 W charging, only two speakers
  • No update policy
  • Conflicting official specs, no independent review yet

Performance

Doogee Tab G6 Max: Performance

The Doogee Tab G6 Max is powered by the Unisoc T7300 processor, released in 2025 and built on a 6 nm process. It is fine for streaming, web browsing, documents and casual games, but it is not made for demanding games, video editing or heavy multitasking. The same chip is used in the Alldocube iPlay 70 Max Pro and the Teclast ArtPad. Compared with other large tablets:

  • The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 7 times faster.
  • The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 in the Boox Note Max is about 20 % faster.
  • The Doogee Tab G6 Max is about 20 % faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
