I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.
Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.
Overview
The Ninkear S13 Neo is a low-cost 13-inch Windows 11 tablet in the style of the Surface Pro, sold since June 2026 with a magnetic keyboard. Only two independent reviews were found (October 2026): deskmodder.de calls it a cheap Surface concept with the usual compromises of its price class, while Antyweb says its slow processor spoils an otherwise good design.
The 13-inch IPS touchscreen has 3000 × 2000 pixels (277 ppi), so text is very sharp, and both reviewers praise it. Its 3:2 format is taller than the usual 16:10 widescreen, which suits documents and sheet music; its area is about 4% smaller than that of the 13-inch iPad Pro. Ninkear’s own spec table wrongly lists 2560 × 1600 and 16:10. Antyweb measured a modest 320 nits (Ninkear: 350, per Notebookcheck) and describes a matte surface.
The Intel N150 is an entry-level 4-core chip. In deskmodder’s test, office work, web browsing, streaming and video calls ran fine, but photo or video editing quickly reached its limits; Antyweb had not tested a slower device in years. The 12 GB of RAM helps, but the 512 GB SSD is slow (under 500 MB/s in both reviews). A fairly quiet fan cools the chip, and the case gets warm under load.
There is no built-in kickstand, which deskmodder sees as the main design flaw: the tablet needs the keyboard case to stand. Antyweb liked the backlit keyboard but not the small touchpad, and also found an active stylus in the box. The 46.2 Wh battery lasted about 4 to 5 hours in the reviews, far from Ninkear’s claimed 8 hours. The tablet weighs 878 g and has two USB-C ports (one with charging and video output), two USB-A ports and a headphone jack.
Ninkear’s store sells it for €519.99 (regular €699), shipped from Germany. At 2,299 zloty, Antyweb thinks a regular budget laptop is a better buy.
Pros
- Sharp 3:2 screen (3000 × 2000, 277 ppi)
- Keyboard included
- 12 GB of RAM
- Many ports: 2 × USB-C, 2 × USB-A, headphone jack
Cons
- Very slow Intel N150 processor
- Short battery life (4 to 5 hours measured)
- No built-in kickstand
- Slow SSD (under 500 MB/s measured)
- Modest brightness (320 nits measured)
Performance

The Ninkear S13 Neo is powered by the Intel Processor N150 processor, released in 2025 and built on a 10 nm process. It is fine for streaming, web browsing, documents and casual games, but it is not made for demanding games, video editing or heavy multitasking. Compared with other large tablets:
- The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 5.5 times faster.
- The Samsung Exynos 1580 in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ is about 40 % faster.
- The Ninkear S13 Neo is about 50 % faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
Brightness

The screen of the Ninkear S13 Neo reaches 350 nits according to Ninkear, which is enough indoors, but not for outdoor use in the summer (600 nits is the minimum). Antyweb measured 320 nits.
