Overview
The Honor Pad X9 Max is a low-cost 13-inch Android tablet for videos, reading and schoolwork. It is called Pad X9b Max in the Middle East and Russia, and Pad X10 Pro Max in China. Reviewers like its large screen, battery life and loud speakers, but all name the chip as its weak point: Xataka gave it 8.2/10 and tbreak only 5/10.
The 16:10 LCD, a wide format made for videos, has 2500 × 1560 pixels (228 ppi) and 120 Hz. Its area is about 6 % smaller than the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro. The standard screen is glossy. On the matte Paperlike Edition, iXBT measured 590 nits, a 2-nit minimum and no flicker; reviewers found the anti-glare effect very good.
The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 is an entry-level chip. Xataka and 3DNews found it smooth enough for everyday tasks, but tbreak and iXBT noticed stutter when scrolling and switching apps, and it is weak for games. Reviewers advise against the 4 GB model. It runs Android 16 (MagicOS 10) with Google services and has a microSD slot (up to 2 TB). Honor has published no update policy, and no review checked HD playback on Netflix.
iXBT measured 19 hours of YouTube video and 27.5 hours of reading at 100 nits; a full charge at 45 W takes about two hours, but European boxes have no charger. At 618 g and 6.72 mm, the aluminum tablet is light for its size. The four speakers are loud but have little bass. The USB-C port is only USB 2.0, Wi-Fi is limited to Wi-Fi 5, and there is no headphone jack. Honor sells a Bluetooth keyboard cover without touchpad and the Magic-Pencil 4s.
In Europe it costs about €400 with 4/128 GB; in Italy the keyboard is included (€499 with 6/256 GB, Smartworld). Honor UK asks £349.99 or £449.99. It is not sold in North America.
Pros
- Sharp 120 Hz screen (590 nits measured, matte edition)
- Long battery life (19 h of video measured)
- Light and thin for 13 inches (618 g, 6.72 mm)
- Loud four-speaker sound
- Effective matte Paperlike Edition
- microSD slot up to 2 TB
Cons
- Slow entry-level chip, some stutter
- 4 GB of RAM in the base model is too little
- USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 5, no headphone jack
- No charger in the box (Europe)
- Keyboard without touchpad
Performance

The Honor Pad X9 Max is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor, released in 2025 and built on a 11 nm process. It is an entry-level chip: fine for videos, web browsing, reading and taking notes, but apps open slowly and games have to run at low settings. Compared with other large tablets:
- The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 11 times faster.
- The MediaTek Helio G100 in the Doogee Tab E3 Max is about 20 % faster.
Brightness

The screen of the Honor Pad X9 Max reaches 590 nits measured by iXBT, which is enough indoors, but not for outdoor use in the summer (600 nits is the minimum).
