I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.
Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.
Overview
The Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is Lenovo’s top Android tablet, presented at IFA in September 2026. It replaces the 12.7-inch Yoga Tab Plus with a larger screen, a microSD slot and seven Android upgrades, with security updates until 2033 (Lenovo). No full review with measurements was available in October 2026; first hands-on reports praise the bright screen and the pen, but find the tablet expensive and not very slim (IT Pro, WinFuture).
The 13-inch LCD has a 3:2 format, taller than the usual 16:10, which suits documents and sheet music. It is very sharp (3840 × 2560, 355 ppi) and runs at up to 144 Hz; Lenovo gives 700 nits typical and 1,100 nits peak. It is glossy (no anti-reflection layer listed) and about 4 % smaller than the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro (Lenovo PSREF).
The Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 2024 flagship chip, remains one of the fastest Android chips. It has 12 or 16 GB of RAM, 256 or 512 GB of storage and a microSD slot. Android 17 with Google Play adds a desktop mode; Widevine L1 (HD streaming) is not confirmed yet.
IT Pro calls the haptic Tab Pen Pro 2 the real star; WinFuture reports a touchpad on the magnetic keyboard. Lenovo claims about 20 hours of web browsing from the 12,700 mAh battery; 68 W charging is supported, but the boxed charger gives 45 W, or none. The tablet weighs 605 g and is 6.1 mm thin (8.3 mm at the camera), with six speakers and one USB-C port with video output, but no headphone jack.
In the US it costs $999.99 with keyboard and pen (ChannelNews). Lenovo announced “from €849” for Europe, but Lenovo Germany first sold only 16/256 GB with keyboard and pen for about €1,050 (Notebookcheck). The China-only Legion Y900 13 shares its screen, chip and battery.
Pros
- Very sharp 13-inch 3:2 screen (3840 × 2560, 355 ppi, 144 Hz)
- Haptic pen and keyboard in the box (US)
- Seven Android upgrades, security updates until 2033
- Fast Snapdragon 8 Elite with 12 or 16 GB of RAM
- microSD slot (up to 2 TB) and USB-C video output
Cons
- LCD, not OLED
- Glossy screen (no anti-reflection coating listed)
- Expensive in Europe (about €1,050 with keyboard)
- Not especially slim; better on a desk than in the hand
- No headphone jack and only one USB-C port
- 45 W charger in the box (or none), though 68 W is supported
Performance

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, released in 2024 and built on a 3 nm process. It is a fast chip: demanding games, large drawings and video editing run smoothly. The same chip is used in 4 other tablets of our database, including the OnePlus Pad 3 and the Lenovo Legion Y900 13. Compared with other large tablets:
- The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 70 % faster.
- The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the OnePlus Pad 4 is about 20 % faster.
- The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is about 5 times faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
Brightness

The screen of the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 reaches 700 nits according to Lenovo, which is bright: enough for bright rooms and for outdoor use in the shade, even in the summer.
