Overview
Launched in China on September 7, 2026, the Pad 9 Pro Max is Xiaomi’s new top tablet for work and entertainment, a little smaller than the 14-inch Pad 7 Ultra but with a faster chip. Notebookcheck and GSMArena had not reviewed it in early October 2026, so the figures below are official (ITHome).
The 13.3-inch LCD has about the same area as the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro. Its 3:2 format is taller and closer to a sheet of paper, better for documents and sheet music. With 3408 × 2272 pixels (308 ppi) it is very sharp, and it runs at up to 144 Hz. Xiaomi rates it at 1,000 nits; panel maker TCL CSOT gives 700 nits typical and 1,000 nits in high-brightness mode (ITHome). The standard screen is glossy; a matte nano-texture “Soft Light Edition” exists only with 16 GB and 512 GB or 1 TB.
Xiaomi’s own XRING O3 is a ten-core 3 nm flagship chip, paired with 8 to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 1 TB of storage (no microSD slot). It runs Xiaomi’s Chinese HyperOS 4 (up to six apps on screen at once) without Google services. Xiaomi has published no update policy, and HD streaming (Widevine L1) is not confirmed.
The magnetic “floating” keyboard costs ¥1,099 and the Focus Pen Pro ¥599 (given free at launch). The 12,000 mAh battery charges at 120 W; its runtime has not been measured yet. The metal body is 5.67 mm thin and weighs 645 g. There are eight speakers but no headphone jack. The USB-C port (10 Gbit/s) also accepts a video signal, so the tablet can serve as a second screen for a PC or a handheld game console (mobidevices, ITHome).
It is sold only in China, from ¥4,799 (8/256 GB, about €620) to ¥7,899 (16 GB / 1 TB, matte). Imported units have no official warranty outside China (GSMArena).

Performance

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is powered by the Xiaomi XRING O3 processor, released in 2026 and built on a 3 nm process. It is one of the fastest chips in any tablet: it handles everything, including heavy video editing, 3D work and the most demanding games. Compared with other large tablets:
- The Apple M5 in the Apple iPad Pro 13″ (M5) is about 30 % faster.
- The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is about 40 % faster than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and its MediaTek Dimensity 9400+.
- The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is about 6 times faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
Brightness

The screen of the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max reaches 1,000 nits according to Xiaomi, which is very bright: the screen stays readable outdoors, even in direct sunlight.
