Author Johannes Eva (viola)I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.

Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.

Overview

The OneXPlayer Super X is a 14-inch Windows 11 tablet made for gaming and local AI work. It uses AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip (as in the Asus ROG Flow Z13) or the Max+ 388. It was funded on Kickstarter in December 2025. No full independent review has been published yet (October 2026); the only hands-on test is a reader test published by ComputerBase.

The AMOLED screen has 2880 × 1800 pixels (243 ppi) in 16:10, a wide format made for videos. It runs at 120 Hz with variable refresh and covers 100% of DCI-P3; its brightness has not been measured. Its area is about 9% larger than the screen of the 13-inch iPad Pro.

The chip is among the fastest in tablets; OneXPlayer compares its Radeon 8060S graphics to a desktop GeForce RTX 4060. The store versions have 48 or 64 GB of memory; OneXPlayer also advertises 128 GB, with up to 96 GB for the graphics. The standard version is rated for 80 W, and a liquid-cooling version reaches 120 W with the external Frost Bay cooler (OneXPlayer blog). In the reader test, the fans were inaudible at 15 W but loud at 55–75 W.

An RGB magnetic keyboard is included, and a built-in hinge works as a stepless kickstand. Pen input works (4,096 pressure levels), but no pen is included. The battery is large (85.6 Wh); its own charger filled it from 10 to 90% in about 1 hour 40 minutes, but USB-C charging is limited to 60 W (reader test). The tablet is thick (12.5 mm) and heavy (about 1.3 kg). It has two USB4 ports, one USB-A, HDMI 2.1, a headphone jack and a microSD slot.

OneXPlayer’s store sells it from $2,599 to $3,129 with the keyboard (October 2026) and ships from China, so import duties may apply; in Europe it starts at €2,950 (androidpctv). Minimachines doubted that buyers would pay this price without a local warranty.

Performance

OneXPlayer Super X: Performance

The OneXPlayer Super X is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, released in 2025 and built on a 4 nm process. It is one of the fastest chips in any tablet: it handles everything, including heavy video editing, 3D work and the most demanding games. The same chip is used in the Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2025). Compared with other large tablets:

  • The OneXPlayer Super X is about 20 % faster than the Asus ProArt PZ14 and its Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100.
  • The OneXPlayer Super X is about 2.5 times faster than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and its MediaTek Dimensity 9400+.
  • The OneXPlayer Super X is about 11 times faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
