I am a classical musician (violist) with 20 years of professional experience in orchestra and chamber music. For many years, I have been advising colleagues, students, and fellow musicians in the choice of their tablet.
Along with the many positives of using tablets, I’ve also seen the negatives: tablets crashing just before going on stage, batteries that don’t hold up during long rehearsal days, and missing page turner pedals in concert.
Overview
The Asus ProArt PZ14 is a 14-inch Windows 11 tablet for photographers and designers. It replaces the 13.3-inch ProArt PZ13 and went on sale in May and June 2026. Les Numériques calls it the largest Windows 11 tablet PC. Notebookcheck rated it 90 % and called it an excellent tablet for creatives; TechRadar gave it 4/5.
The screen is about 9 % larger than that of the 13-inch iPad Pro, in 16:10, a wide format made for videos. The 3K OLED panel (2880 × 1800, 243 ppi) runs at 144 Hz and is very color-accurate. Notebookcheck measured 522 nits (1,142 nits in HDR), a minimum of 8.4 nits and PWM flicker at 720 Hz, which may bother sensitive eyes. The glass is glossy with an anti-reflection coating: TechRadar saw few reflections outdoors, Gadgets 360 was bothered by office lights.
The Snapdragon X2 Elite (18 cores) with 32 GB of RAM is fast and very quiet in everyday use, but the fans are clearly audible at full power, and its graphics are slower than in AMD and Intel rivals. On Windows on Arm, Adobe apps ran well in the reviews, but some games and older programs do not run.
The backlit Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad and a stand cover are in the box, and in most countries also the Asus Pen 3.0 with haptic feedback. The keyboard types well on a desk, but TechRadar and Gadgets 360 found the set-up unstable on the lap. Gadgets 360 got about 11 hours of everyday use from the 75 Wh battery; Les Numériques measured 8 hours 16 minutes of video. The tablet weighs 790 g, about 1.56 kg with keyboard and cover. It has two speakers, two USB4 ports and a fast SD Express card reader, but no headphone jack.
Prices: $1,900 in the US (16 GB / 512 GB), €2,499 in Germany and Spain with the pen, €1,899 in France without it (Asus).
Pros
- Color-accurate 14-inch 3K OLED at 144 Hz (Delta E 1.2 measured)
- Light for its size (790 g)
- Keyboard, stand cover and (in most countries) pen included
- Fast and very quiet in everyday use
- Good battery life (about 11 h of everyday use)
- Fast SD Express card reader (729 MB/s) and two USB4 ports
Cons
- Expensive ($1,900; €2,499 in Germany and Spain)
- Keyboard and stand unstable on the lap
- Fans loud at full power (47 dB(A) measured)
- Windows on Arm: some games and older programs do not run
- No headphone jack, only two USB-C ports
Performance

The Asus ProArt PZ14 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 processor, released in 2025 and built on a 3 nm process. It is one of the fastest chips in any tablet: it handles everything, including heavy video editing, 3D work and the most demanding games. Compared with other large tablets:
- The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 in the Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2025) is about 20 % faster.
- The Asus ProArt PZ14 is about twice as fast as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and its MediaTek Dimensity 9400+.
- The Asus ProArt PZ14 is about 9 times faster than the Meswao MES-B3 (Pro) and its MediaTek Helio G99.
Brightness

The screen of the Asus ProArt PZ14 reaches 500 nits according to Asus, which is enough indoors, but not for outdoor use in the summer (600 nits is the minimum). Notebookcheck measured 522 nits.
